Have a question about your booking, or want to learn more about what we offer? Our friendly admin team would love to hear from you:
We are a not-for-profit nationwide organisation dedicated to supporting young people across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our purpose is simple yet powerful: to empower young people to be the best they can be.
Originating from a boxing gym in 1932, Youthtown evolved into a national youth development organisation with an amazing team, many of whom were former participants, dedicated to passing on its values and spirit to new generations.
The humble boxing gym grew into an iconic Youthtown recreation facility on Nelson Street. This fondly loved and iconic place became like a second home for countless young people. Recognising the need for inclusivity and belonging, Boystown evolved, reflecting its diverse community and rebranding as ‘Youthtown.’ From this foundation, Youthtown established hubs and teams across the North and South Islands, bringing our programmes to even more communities.
Making a difference in our community.
We are passionate about supporting and encouraging the next generation. In Christchurch we run a variety of programmes including After School Care, Holiday Programmes and Youth Hubs. Our dedicated team are invested in their local communities, our Community Work includes programmes like Disabilitiies Basketball Community programme, Youth Employability, and Learner Licence. We also run outdoor programmes on land and the water at Omaka.
Established in 1932, we are a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting young people across Aotearoa. Our purpose is simple yet powerful: to empower young people to be the best they can be.
We accept donations of toiletries, supermarket/fuel vouchers, and clothing vouchers all year round. Have a household item, clothing, bedding, gym gear, or a bike to donate?
Our programmes reflect what today’s young people are passionate about, and we make sure they’re designed to create measurable change for young people in schools, whānau and communities. Through our youth enterprise or employability programmes, Tōku Pūrākau, before/after-school and holiday programmes, outdoor education and youth hubs, we support young people as they grow, explore, and connect with the world around them.
Every moment we spend helping young people build life skills, resilience, and the confidence and courage to unlock their potential is an investment into setting them up for life.
